hamletmachine

Exploring Heiner Muller's hamletmachine in the form of a video object, sculpture, mirror box. Through the process of interacting with the box, the dialectic facets of history is being presented. The box has 4 layers: the one-way mirror, the sealed reflective and fractured mask, the nature invaded world, and the pastoral lifestyle in exhibit. The first 3 responds to the 2 rooms in the play. The mask resembles both Ophelia and the Angelus Novus. The fourth layer stands for a reflection on the idea of a place of retreat, the human mind often visit, when the world seemingly progresses towards destruction.
