eeee 'kebana

The name of the piece is a distorted version of japanese flower decor art: the ikebana. The tree represents Baal, the poet, himself from Brecht's Baal, which is a collection of blood, body, lust, and wine. The ikebana is commonly viewed as a form of elegant art, which responds to the high-class society which Baal is in at the very beginning of the play as an irony.
